Eliminating health risks is one reason to go organic. Organic foods are grown using no synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides. Conventionally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs often contain residues of harmful synthetic chemicals. The Environmental Protection Agency recently determined that 60% of herbicides, 90% of fungicides, and 30% of insecticides are carcinogenic. Even thoroughly washing produce before consuming doesn't eliminate all of the residues! It is pretty scary to think that every time you are getting in a healthy serving of fruits or vegetables you are also getting a dose of toxic synthetic chemicals.
These same dangerous chemicals also enter our waterways. Agricultural run-off causes these harmful chemicals to enter our lakes, rivers, groundwater, and sometimes even our drinking water! By buying organically grown produce and herbs you can help support safer, cleaner waterways.
Here at the greenhouse all of our herbs and spices are 100% organically grown. Our customers have told us numerous times that they taste better than conventionally grown herbs and we agree! They are also more potent so less is needed, making them economical as well. But don't take our word for it, try them for yourself....

I've long heard about the health benefits of going organic but there are a lot of ways that our environment benefits as well. Only about 1% or pesticides actually effect their target organism, which means that 99% of the chemicals either kill other organisms or seep into the soil and groundwater...99%!!! Unreal. I'd love to try your organic herbs and spices, can you order them online?
Yes, you can order them online, just go to this address, http://www.rickyandlucysgreenhouse.com/products/products.aspx?cat=4
and you can browse our many blends. Of course there are lots of environmental benefits to going organic! Releasing those toxic, synthentic chemicals reeks havoc on the entire ecosystem. We've done a lot of damage all ready but perhaps if we all change our ways soon we can begin restoring and rejuvenating the environment instead of just harming it.
If you haven't tasted Ricky and Lucy's Afrika Meat Rub, it's incredible. We rub it on steaks and throw them right on the grill. The first time I used it, my wife said "These steaks are great! What did you do?"
